Town Board Minutes
Linda called the 2011 Board of Review to order, on Monday, May 9, 2011, and immediately adjourned it to a later date to be announced.
The regular May 9, 2011, Town Board meeting was called to order by Linda Schraufnagel, at 7:30 PM. Present were Linda, Raymond Collien, Arthur Mueller, Erma Franke, Bryant Halverson, and 8 guests. Raymond made a motion to accept and approve the agenda as presented, 2nd by Arthur, motion passed and carried. Arthur made a motion to approve the reading of the April minutes, 2nd by Raymond, motion passed and carried.
The Treasurer’s report showed a beginning balance in the General Account of $12,415.71; receipts of $80,663.61; expenditures of $56,510.64; for an ending balance of $36,568.68. The Tax Account showed a beginning balance of $166,303.92; receipts of $22.90; expenditures of $45,000.00; for an ending balance of $121,326.82, of which $30,000 of that amount is in the budgeted reserves. We also have a CD at the Bank of Oakfield in the amount of $62.893.37. Arthur made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s report subject to audit, 2nd by Raymond, motion passed and carried.
Erma reported building permits for Allan Serwe-Grain Bin for $48.00; Carlton Wells-Det. garage and deck for $27.60; Richard Wondra-Shed for $250.00; Gerard Feucht-Shed for $19.00; CD Smith Construction for Grande Cheese-Sanitary vault for $276.00; Marshland Graphics-
Sign for $17.00; and Gary Hoffman-Roof over Deck for $16.00.
Raymond stated that he will get estimates for chipping brush on the roadsides form Ries Tree Service and A to Z Trimming. Raymond also had nothing to report on the Sanitary District.
The Alcohol Ordinance was discussed. Raymond made a motion to add—Failure to report a Sheriff Department call in accordance with Section V1.6 of this ordinance, And change the point system form 75 to 50, 2nd by Arthur, motion passed and carried. Arthur made a motion to adopt the Ordinance, subject to the change, 2nd by Raymond, motion passed and carried.
Raymond made a motion to renew the contract with Computer Troubleshooters, 2nd by Arthur, motion passed and carried. Dodge County District Attorney, Kurt Klomberg was present. He gave a very enlightening talk on the drug problem that is in Dodge County. We are within one day driving to Milwaukee, Madison, and Chicago, and that is where most of the drugs are coming from. He asked us to be on the lookout for any property that has a lot of coming and goings, as that could be a indicator of drug activity. Any call will be kept confidential. He is attending all municipalities meetings to bring awareness to the community.
Arthur made a motion to donate $1000.00 to the LeRoy Athletic Association, 2nd by Linda, motion passed and carried. Raymond made a motion to approve the hauling permit for Linck Aggreagte, Inc. 2nd by Arthur, motion passed and carried.
Arthur made a motion to do ditching on Wildgoose Road and Northline Road with Kin-x Construction for $1750.00, 2nd by Linda, motion passed and carried.
The Board is looking at doing the following roads for 2011 depending on the price. Seal Coating for Bauer Road—Hwy Y to Dairy Road; Elm Road—Hwy V to curve; Ledge Road—Hwy Z to West Point Road; Zangl Road—Hwy YY to Centerline. Grind and Relay Bauer Road—Hwy Y to Dairy Road; Ertl Road—Hwy Y to Krapfl Road and add Shoulder. Westline Road—Lomira Drive to ˝ mi. north and Westline Road—Lomira Drive to Hwy V get a top coat. Raymond made a motion to bid out these roads separately, subject to the prevailing wage, 2nd by Arthur, motion passed and carried
Arthur made a motion to appoint Brenda Wenzel as Deputy Clerk, replacing Harvey Simon, 2nd by Raymond, motion passed and carried. Raymond made a motion to purchase a new computer monitor, 2nd by Arthur, motion passed and carried. Raymond stated that the Sanitary District meeting is changed to May 11 at 6:00 PM and the Joint District is at 7:00 PM.
Arthur made a motion to pay bills #14537 thru #14575, 2nd by Raymond, motion passed and carried. Arthur made a motion to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Raymond, motion passed and carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:28 PM. Next meeting is June 13, 2011 at 7:30 PM.
