Important Dates and Information

Voter Registration - New state law requires that Everyone needs to register before they can vote in the February 2006 election.  Even though your name was on the pole list for prior elections you will need to register to vote. You will need to fill out a registration form and have 1 of the following items to register- proof of residence, driver's license number, or the last 4 digits of your social security number.  Erma Franke will have registration hours at the Town Hall on August 24, 2005 from 4 - 6 PM and November 16, 2005 from 2 - 6 PM. If you are unable to register at that these times, please call Erma @ 583-3320 to set up a time and date to register.

Land Use Plan - The LeRoy Plan Commission is at the Public Hearing phase of the Town of LeRoy 2030 Land Use Plan. We have scheduled a public hearing for August 29, 2005 at 7:30 PM at the Town Hall. Everyone is encouraged to come to this meeting to give the Plan Commission and Town Board input into the plan. The Town of LeRoy 2030 Land Use Plan can be view on the Town's website, , the Brownsville, Mayville and Lomira libraries after August 1. Please take time to review this plan to help us make these valuable and important decisions.

Board of Review - Erma will be holding open book on August 24, 2005 from 4-6 PM at the Town Hall. Board of Review will be held on Monday, September 12, 2005 from 5 - 7 PM at the Town Hall.

Ordinance - The LeRoy Town Board has passed a burning ordinance that is in effect for the LeRoy Sanitary District. You can view this ordinance on the Town's website, or you can request a copy from any of the Town Board members. We are in the process of reviewing all town ordinances. As we complete them, they will be put on the town's website.

Building Inspector - Building inspections are required in the Town of LeRoy for all new 1 and 2 family dwellings and addition or remodels to 1 and 2 family dwellings. We are working on our ordinance to amend the wording to read "new 1 and 2 family dwellings and additions or remodels to 1 and 2 family dwellings costing more than $50,000". This ordinance will be posted on the website when we have acted on this amendment.

Town Hall Rental - The LeRoy Town Hall is available to town residents to rent at a cost of $30.00. For availability call Linda @ 387-4132.

Just a reminder to all town residents, if you see any signs down or problems with the roads please call and let one of the board members know so repairs can be made.

Weekly garbage hours are from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM every Saturday. If you cannot make these times, please make arrangement by calling 387-4132. There should be no dumping after hours without prior approval. The cost in $1.00 per bag of garbage, recycling is free. We have a big clean up every spring and fall for you to dispose of large items. Dates and times will be posted at the Town Hall, on the website and in the Mayville News.

The Plan Commission meets the first Monday of the month as needed; the Town Board meets the second Monday of each month at 7:30PM. If there is an issue you would like discussed, please notify Linda at 387-4132 or Erma at 583-3320 at least 7 days prior to the meeting date so we can put that issue on the agenda. By law the Town Board cannot discuss or make decisions if the item is not on that months agenda. Please feel free to come to any of the Board meetings so you can stay apprised on what is happening in your Town. Meeting agendas are posted in the Town Hall display case, town's website,
Tim & Teri's and Gill Hooley's. The Mayville News is the official paper of the Town of LeRoy. The annual town meeting is held in April. This meeting is a meeting of the town's people. This is your meeting! You may bring up any item you would like to be discussed. At this meeting items do not need to be on the agenda to be discussed.
